XIMC Motion Control Engine
The X-Signal motion controller XIMC supports sensorless FOC control, which effectively improves motor operating efficiency and reduces operating noise and torque pulsations.
X-Signal's motion control engine, XIMC, has been developed with the specific purpose of being used with brushless DC motors. The integrated sensorless FOC algorithms within the IC enable users to implement a range of sophisticated control modes, including constant speed, constant torque/current, constant power and open-loop, without the necessity for coding. This significantly streamlines the design of brushless motors. XIMC has been specifically tailored for high-speed motors and not only accommodates weak magnetism but also supports rotations up to 300,000 rpm, facilitated by its ultra-high solver speed and modulation frequency.
XIMC supports advanced FOC technology, superior to square and sine wave phase change, enhancing efficiency and operation smoothness. Traditional FOC requires auxiliary devices, but XIMC employs sensorless observer algorithms, real-time calculating motor phase voltage and current for precise rotor position, reducing complexity, cost, and enhancing stability.
Sensorless phase change control lacks position sensors, making the motor unaware of the rotor's initial position at startup and resorting to open-loop pulling. This method often faces challenges like insufficient electromagnetic force and easy start-up failure. XIMC's XENLESS patented technology (Patents: ZL202110989711.6 and ZL202110988813.6) automatically detects the rotor's initial position during startup and initiates closed-loop motor startup. Compared to open-loop pulling, it offers greater starting torque, higher success rates, and reduced load sensitivity.
Without a position sensor, it is difficult to detect the real-time position of the motor rotor at low speeds in brushless DC motors. XIMC's patented XENLESS technology precisely calculates the rotor position in real time, ensuring smooth operation at very low electrical speeds, and can be applied to both SPM and IPM motors.
In applications like hairdryers and vacuums, motor speeds can exceed tens of thousands or even 100,000 rpm for maximum airflow. XIMC is optimized for high-speed motors, supporting weak magnetic speed boosting and modulation frequencies up to 300,000 rpm. High-speed motors often suffer from high-frequency noise and electromagnetic interference due to small phase inductance and low modulation frequency. XIMC's unique TURBO DRIVE technology provides ultra-fast FOC solving speed and multiplies modulation frequency output, ensuring smooth operation and significantly enhancing efficiency.
